There is a Presidential Administration that provides staff and policy support to the president, drafts presidential decrees, and co-ordinates policy among government agencies. Constitution: federal republic. * Two-chamber Federal Assembly consisting of the Federation Council (upper house) with 168 seats and the State Duma (lower house) with 450 seats, elected by proportional representation from party lists winning at least 7% of the vote. State Duma elections were last held in December 2007. |
